Centre of Excellence (COE)

Why COE ?

Smart Grid Implementation

Some of the challenges that we foresee in Smart Grid implementation are Inadequacies in grid infra structure, Cyber security, Storage concerns, Data management, Communication issues.

Protocol Standardization

With ESCOM having multiple vendors each of the vendors come with multiple protocol and software interoperability of these companies and  software is key which is not happening at present.

Adoption of New Technology

Adoption of new technologies  come with lot of challenges as we are not sure if a given technology  is reliable or if there is any loss to ESCOM both in terms of financial or assets. Creating a controlled environment to test this will be optimum

Detail Insights & Real time analytics

Granular level details of the ground reality is a must to make informed decisions in  day-day scenarios however the same is not possible due to the huge network being able to access the real time data  dissect the data helps in better  decision making.

Core Elements of COE

Experiential Learning

To establish an experiential learning center in a small scale model to understand various know how’s related to both technical/functional aspects

Testing Platform

Perform the necessary tests to evaluate components and systems, validate functionality, check reliability and define quality metrics

Unified Command Center

To have a Unified Command Centre to enable real time problem identification and problem resolution
